Century estimates three kinds of Essex move differently: an urban apartment, an older house and a larger detached home.
We estimate from the property and the inventory, not the town name. For a Newark apartment, the first questions are the curb, the floor, the stairs, the elevator and the carry from the truck. In Montclair, older-house access matters alongside apartment-building rules, so we measure the route for large pieces.
Millburn Township, which includes Short Hills, says most of its residents live in single-family homes. So a Short Hills job is whole-house planning: the full inventory, the packing and the loading access. On all three, we check the building access, the stair geometry, the protection the property needs and the total inventory before the crew is scheduled.

West Orange bars a commercial vehicle from parking on a residential street from 9 PM to 7 AM unless its conditions are met, including a 20-foot length and 6,000-pound weight limit. Its streets are also closed to parking from 2 AM to 5 AM daily, except where posted.
Before we confirm the date, we settle where the truck can legally stand and who arranges any permission, and that goes into the booking paperwork.
